How it works

  1. 1

Choose a name or words and sentences

Enter a name, switch modes to enter spelling words or short sentences one per line, or paste a class list with one student name per line.

  2. 2

Pick a style and row count

Choose a dotted, outline or light trace guide and letter size. Pick rows for names, or writing guides and trace repetitions for words and sentences.

  3. 3

    Print the worksheet

Tap “Print worksheet” to print (or save as PDF) a clean page with just the tracing guides — no menus or buttons. A class list prints one page per student in a single print job.

Make spelling word and sentence tracing worksheets

Switch to Words & sentences to practice a full name, one spelling word per line, or a short sentence in its original upper- and lowercase letters. Longer entries wrap at the edge of the writing guide rather than shrinking letters. Each line shows a solid model, your choice of trace repetitions and a blank line to copy freehand. Only English manuscript letters, the numerals 0–9 and basic punctuation are supported; check the on-screen preview before printing on A4 or US Letter paper.

Make number tracing worksheets (0–9 and 1–10)

Words & sentences mode also traces the numerals 0 to 9 in the same single-stroke manuscript style, with start dots and arrows. Type a counting line such as “1 2 3 4 5”, an age, a house number or “Room 12”, and print numbers and letters together on the same sheet. Math symbols such as + and = are not supported yet.

Print name tracing worksheets for a whole class

Switch to Class list and paste your roster, one student per line (up to 40). One print job makes a separate name page for every student, in list order, using the same letter style, trace guide, letter size and row count. The names stay in your browser tab: they are not saved, uploaded or added to a link.

What is name tracing and how does it help handwriting?

Name tracing is one of the first handwriting activities most kids practice — tracing over an outlined copy of their own name builds the fine-motor control and letter recognition needed for independent writing. Starting with a name kids already know (and love seeing) keeps early handwriting practice motivating.

Tips for name tracing practice

  • Start with just a first name before trying a full name.
  • Trace with a finger first, then a crayon or pencil.
  • Say each letter's sound out loud while tracing it.
  • Print a fresh sheet each day to build the habit.
  • Try lowercase once uppercase feels easy.
  • Celebrate a finished row before moving to the next.
